Last updated: October 30, 2026

About these terms

These terms apply to every appointment booked with Notary Near Me Cocoa Beach, FL. By booking an appointment, you agree to them. In these terms, “I” means the commissioned Florida notary public who performs your appointment, and “you” means the person who books it.

Booking and fees

Every fee is agreed during booking, before I travel to the appointment. I will confirm your total by text, including the travel fee for your exact address and any after-hours or facility fee.

Deposit

A 10% deposit is due at booking to reserve your appointment. It is applied to your total at the appointment.

Notarial fees

Florida law caps the fee for a notarial act at $10 per act (section 117.05(2)(a), Florida Statutes). Travel and service fees are separate and are agreed before the appointment.

Travel fee

The travel fee is set by the road distance to your exact address:

  • Up to 10 miles: $25
  • 11 to 20 miles: $35
  • 21 to 30 miles: $50

Travel is priced by your exact address, so parts of Melbourne and Titusville fall in the next tier. Addresses beyond 30 miles are quoted at booking.

Appointment times

  • 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.: Regular pricing
  • 7:00 to 10:00 p.m.: +$50
  • 10:00 to 11:30 p.m.: +$75
  • 11:30 p.m. to midnight: +$100
  • Midnight to 7:00 a.m.: +$150
  • Weekend or holiday: +$35

Waiting time after the first 15 minutes is charged at $10 per 15 minutes.

Other fees

  • Vote-by-mail ballot witnessing: No charge
  • Witness, each: $45
  • Printing: $0.50 per page
  • Hospital, nursing home or hospice: $100 visit fee + $10 per act
  • Brevard County Jail Complex (Cocoa): $100 visit fee + $10 per act
  • I-9 authorized representative: $60 + travel
  • Attorney and HOA signature collection: $10 per act + travel per trip
  • Apostille assistance: $150 + $10 state fee per document

Payment

I accept Cash, Check, Debit Card, Credit Card, Wire Transfer and ACH. The balance, after your deposit is applied, is due at the appointment.

Cancellations and rescheduling

With at least 24 hours’ notice, you may cancel or reschedule at no charge, and your deposit will be applied to the new appointment or refunded.

With less than 24 hours’ notice, or if no one is present at the agreed time and place, the deposit is forfeited.

When a signing cannot proceed

If, after I arrive, the signer is not present or not ready, cannot present valid identification, or the notarization cannot lawfully proceed, the travel fee and any after-hours or facility fee for the appointment are still due.

What every signer needs

  • A current government-issued photo identification
  • To be personally present at the appointment
  • To understand the document and sign it willingly
  • A complete document, with no blank spaces, left unsigned until I am present

My right to refuse

Florida law sets strict rules for every notarization. I may refuse to notarize if I cannot identify a signer, if a signer does not appear to understand the document or to be signing willingly, if the document is incomplete, or if the notarization would not comply with Florida law. When I refuse for one of these reasons, the section above on signings that cannot proceed applies.

No legal advice

I AM NOT AN ATTORNEY LICENSED TO PRACTICE LAW IN THE STATE OF FLORIDA, AND I MAY NOT GIVE LEGAL ADVICE OR ACCEPT FEES FOR LEGAL ADVICE.

I notarize the document you provide. I cannot prepare documents, select forms or explain the legal effect of a document. Please consult an attorney for legal advice.

Hospitals, nursing homes, hospice and jail visits

Visits to hospitals, nursing homes and hospice are subject to the facility’s rules, access and scheduling. Notarizations at the Brevard County Jail Complex (Cocoa) are subject to the facility's approval and scheduling.

Wedding ceremonies

The notary fee for solemnizing a marriage may not exceed $30 (sections 117.045 and 28.24(25), Florida Statutes). A Florida marriage license is required before the ceremony (section 741.08). Each ceremony package includes that fee; the rest of the package price covers the additional services listed for that package. Venue and beach permit fees are not included, and the travel tier applies beyond 20 miles.

I-9 authorized representative

Completing Form I-9 Section 2 as an employer’s authorized representative is not a notarial act, and no notary seal is applied.

Apostille assistance

Apostilles are issued only by the Florida Department of State, Division of Corporations (state fee $10 per document). I notarize your document and handle the submission; I do not issue the apostille. The state fee is separate from my service fee. Processing times are set by the Florida Department of State and are not guaranteed.

Limitation of liability

My role is to perform the notarial act correctly. I am not responsible for the content or legal effect of any document, or for whether a third party accepts it. To the extent permitted by Florida law, my liability for any appointment is limited to the fees paid for that appointment.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida. Any dispute will be resolved in Brevard County, Florida.

Changes to these terms

I may update these terms from time to time. The date at the top of this page shows the latest version, and the terms in effect when you book apply to your appointment.
